Best time of the year:

Winter runs from June to August and the sun shines on Christmas Day. Cape Town has a mediterranean climate with four seasons. In the interior it becomes very hot in summer and during winter snow falls on the highest mountain peaks.

Tips and notes:
  • The seas are cold in during winter months; travel from December to May for warmer swimming
  • Whale sightings between June and November
  • Good shopping opportunities and shipping facilities to Europe and the America's
  • Protea flowers can be shipped overseas and will last for months
