- 2 nights at Nsefu Camp on the Nsefu sector
- This safari is excellent for those guests who are keen on the combination of game drives, walks and boat trips.
The Luangwa Valley is at its most dramatic in the Emerald Season, with the Luangwa River now flowing over into the brimming lagoons. Boating into these lagoons, flooded ebony groves and flowing channels gives you a view of the Valley which is normally inaccessible during this season. Highlights
- With the bush at peak growth many of the animal species, from mammals to birds, are in breeding.
- The crystal clear days give way to dramatic skyscapes as the storms build in the late afternoon light.
- The nights are usually when the rain falls, giving rise to clear mornings – perfect for photography.
- The wildlife move to the drier areas where there is the option to drive or walk. These activities, along with the boating ensure the safari experience is an adventure.
- Nsefu is located near one of the largest ebony groves of the Valley – wonderful for boating in during the morning light.
- There are many great walking areas in the area and the chance to visit one of southern Africa’s largest yellow-billed stork colonies as the birds are building nest and laying eggs.
- The South Luangwa Park is regarded as one of the finest wildlife sanctuaries in Africa. Well known for its large herds of elephant, buffalo, antelope and hippo, and stunning riverine floodplain scenery along the Luangwa River.
