Day-to-day Itinerary
Day 1: Morning transfer from hotel to Dar es Salaam's Tazara Station for 12h00 departure on the Edwardian Tran Safari. Dinner and overnight will be on board the train.
Day 2: En route to Tunduma, the train will arrive in the town of Makambako which lies at the junction of the Tanzam Highway and the road southeast toward Songea at 16h30. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will provided on board the train.
Day 3: Arrive at Tunduma/Nakonde at 07h00 for Tanzanian/Zambian border formalities. The rest of the day will be spent travelling south westwards through northern Zambia.
Day 4:: Arriving at Kanona at 08h00 hrs, guests will have a brunch outing to Kundalila Falls, one of Zambia's most beautiful waterfalls, set in an area of scenic meadows and forests on the edge of the Muchinga escarpment. Departing Kanona at 12h00, with dinner and overnight on board, the train will pass through the capital Lusaka overnight.
Day 5 The train will journey through Kafue National Park and Choma, with breakfast, lunch and dinner on board the train.
Day 6: At 09h00 the train will arrive in Livingstone for Zimbabwean border formalities before arriving at Victoria Falls at 12h00. Upon arrival, guests will be transferred to the Victoria Falls Hotel, followed by a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River and the African Spectacular Show. Dinner and overnight at the Victoria Falls Hotel.
Day 7: This day will be spent at leisure where you have the opportunity to explore the village and take a tour of the mighty Victoria Falls. Various activities are available in the Vic falls area ranging from golf, to the adrenaline pumping bungi jump. Early in the afternoon you will be transferred to Victoria Falls Station for 17h00 departure. Dinner and overnight will be on board the train.
Day 8: By 08h00 the train will pass by Bulawayo en route to Beit bridge with breakfast, lunch, dinner and overnight on board the train.
Day 9: After breakfast on board, the train will arrive into Hoedspruit at 11h00 where guests will then be transferred to either Thornybush Game Lodge or Kapama game Lodge. Both of these 5 star properties are set in their own private game reserve and are part of the Greater Kruger National Park
Day 10: After breakfast, you are able to partake in the multitude of activities on offer at both lodges or can merely take in the stunning surroundings with some pure rest and relaxation. Lunch, dinner and overnight at either Thornybush or Kapama Game Lodge.
Day 11: Afternoon visit to the nearby Wild Dog and Cheetah Project. At 18h00 guests will depart Hoedspruit aboard the 'Pride of Africa' via Nelspruit to Pretoria.
Day 12: At 10h00 the train will arrive into Pretoria where guests will have a light lunch and a City Tour of Pretoria. The train will depart at 16h30 for Cape Town.
Day 13: The train arrives into Kimberley at 10h00 hrs where there is an opportunity to visit the famous Big Hole and Kimberley Diamond Museum, followed by a ride on the historic trams. The train will depart Kimberley with dinner and overnight on the train.
Day 14: The train will arrive in Matjiesfontein at 08h30 for a tour of the village before continuing on to Cape Town Station for a 18h00 arrival and the end of this magnificent trip.

Tips and Notes:
- A Pre-train tour can also be incorporated nicely at the beginning of the trip . The 7 night trip takes in Zanzibar, Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti.
- There is a Post-Train Tour offered and incorporates a stay at the luxury Cape Grace hotel on Cape Town's V & A waterfront, a tour of the Cape winelands and tour of the Cape Peninsula.
- Alternatively we will personally organise a tailor made trip anywhere in eastern and southern Africa before or after this magnificent trip to suit your needs.
- Please check with the relevant embassies for your visa requirements which should be purchased prior to departure to Africa.
- Passengers are requested to have yellow fever inoculations before commencing on this journey.
