The Malawi Safari and Kayak Special

A 7 night trip combining game-viewing activities in Liwonde National Park with Kayaking on Lake Malawi from only US$POA  per person sharing...

This special for the 2008 green season offers a superb combination of one Malawi's finest National Parks with the beautiful coastline of Lake Malawi.  

Liwonde National Park has been considered one of Africa's best birding destinations and offers scenic game-viewing in stunning riverine surroundings.  Staying for 3 nights at Mvuu Wilderness Lodge provides the opportunity to experience a wide range of game including large numbers of sable antelope, hippo, impala, waterbuck crocodiles and serval.

Kayak Africa operates within the Lake Malawi National Park and provides approximately 5days/4 nights exploring the waters around Domwe and Mombo Islands.  These 5 days with Kayak Africa can be as active or alternatively, as relaxing as guests choose with further opportunities of snorkelling, swimming and other activities.

Day-to-Day Itinerary:

Day 1: Guests are greeted in Lilongwe Airport and transported by 4 hr road transfer to Liwonde National Park.  Accommodation at Mvuu Wilderness Lodge is Full Board.

Days 2 and 3: Both days spent at Mvuu Wilderness Lodge.  Multitude of activities available including game drives, boat safaris, walking safaris, swimming or just relaxation in the bush.

Day 4: Approximate 2 hour transfer to Kayak Africa and Lake Malawi followed by a boat trip, or kayaking out to either Domwe or Mombo Island.  Tented accommodation on raised platforms on  either Domwe or Mombo. 

Days 5, 6 and 7: Days spent at Domwe or Mombo Island.  Various activities ranging from snorkeling, swimming, diving or pure rest and relaxation with stunning views.

Day 8: Departure and 4 hour road transfer to Lilongwe Airport for connecting flights.

Children are charged at 50% of the normal per person sharing rate

Includes: All road transfers throughout the trip and all meals as well as game activities at Mvuu Lodge.  All meals, all kayaking and snorkelling equipment at Kayak Africa is also included.

Excludes: Drinks, park entry fees of US$ 5.00 per person per day.  International departure tax of US$ 30.00 required upon leaving Malawi is also not included in the quoted price above.
