Best time of the year:
- Dry season - July to October animals converge on the Chobe River on the northern border of the park
- Game viewing is good year round
- Numerous raptors all year with migrant eagles joining the ranks during the summer (end Nov to April)
- Green season - December to March, less visitors, dust and smoke, birthing season
Tips and notes:
- The Victoria Falls themselves are most spectacular when in full flood in April - the spray is intense so they're best viewed from the air.
- Photographic opportunities from the Rain Forest improve as the annual flood abates from May onwards.
- This trip is available all year round, however consideration must be made for the heat in October/November.
- Chobe National Park is very busy. You could choose to do the lunchtime activities when you will find you have most of the park to yourself, but there will also be the full day heat to consider!
- Chobe is best known for it’s large herds of elephant (approximately 73000), buffalo and prides of lion.
- Along the marshy river floodplain you will often spot the two antelope trademarks of Chobe, the waterloving red lechwes and the rare puku.
- Game at Muchenje is consistent year round; photographic opportunities are excellent especially at dawn and dusk.
- ALL FARES AND TAXES ARE SUBJECT TO INCREASE WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE AND AT THE DISCRETION OF THE AIRLINES AND GOVERNMENT. ALL FARES ARE SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY IN THE CORRECT BOOKING CLASSES AT THE TIME OF MAKING THE RESERVATION
