Wilderness Safaris have been operating an amazing selection of intimate camps throughout southern Africa for over 20 years.  Wilderness camps are located in some of Africa’s most magnificent areas, far off the beaten tourist track and attempt to represent the feeling of being in true, prime and remote wilderness areas.

Throughout Botswana, Namibia, Malawi, Seychelles, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Zambia, Wilderness Safaris offer conservation conscious camps in large and exclusive reserves that offer unbeatable experiences. 

All camps operated by Wilderness Safaris are small and intimate with most camps consisting of no more than ten rooms in total.  All camps have their own individual flair and although the design of each camp and lodge varies, each is able to offer a warm and homely atmosphere. 

Although Wilderness Safaris own a small number of the camps, individual partners, who share the visions and ideals of Wilderness Safaris, own the majority.  With these partners having meaningful stakes in the camps, they focus on delivering a superb experience, as well as contributing their own characters and personalities to the camp atmosphere.

Wilderness Safaris are increasingly recognised worldwide for their efforts in conservation and the development of eco-friendly tourism in environmentally sensitive areas.  Through a series of low-density tourism projects, Wilderness Safaris are helping to protect areas of high species diversity and key wilderness areas whilst also contributing to the development of the local economies. 

By hosting guests in remote areas throughout the region, and by sharing the income steams with local governments, villagers and communities who live on the periphery of these great reserves and wilderness areas, Wilderness Safaris attempt to encourage their conservation and protection. 

Wilderness Safaris offer a range of activities and excursions from each of the camps that they operate.  The range of activities available from each camp will vary depending on the camp location.

All Wilderness Safaris camps are divided into three classes to aid decision making:

Premier Wilderness Camp	Highest level of camp in portfolio Most elegant and stylish accommodation Superbly designed architecture with warm comforts of home and personal service Each tent or room has en-suite bathrooms, often with outdoor shower 'under the stars'
Classic Wilderness Camp	Generally tented camps, although a few are permanent lodges Offer superb facilities and accommodation Bedrooms slightly smaller than those of the Premier collection Many have tents rasied off the ground with interconnecting walkways All tents have en-suite bathrooms
Vintage Wilderness Camp	Unique in design, while still being comfortable and taking care of guests' needs Most have East African 'Meru'-style tents built on the ground Most of these tents also have en-suite bathrooms This category is best suited for those guests who would like a more traditional safari experience. These camps are less expensive than the Classic Camp collection
