Sanctuary Lodges
Sanctuary Lodges are owners and operators of a selection of exclusive and environmentally friendly lodges and camps in outstanding locations throughout Kenya, Botswana, Uganda and Tanzania.
Olonana is a permanent safari lodge on the banks of the Mara river in Kenya’s Masai Mara National Park and offers guests spectacular game drives and cultural visits to nearby Masai villages.
In Tanzania, Sanctuary Lodges own and operate Kusini Camp in the world-famous Serengeti National Park, and Swala Camp within the Tarangire National Park. These two stylish and picturesque tented camps offer game drives, bush walks and the opportunity to visit local community projects.
Within the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Uganda, Sanctuary Lodges own and operate Gorilla Forest Camp. The main activities at Gorilla Forest Camp include gorilla tracking, primate viewing and bird watching.
Sanctuary Lodges also own and operate four camps in northern Botswana. Chobe Chilwero Lodge offers a scenic location on the Chobe River and opportunities to explore Chobe National Park. Chief’s Camp, Baines' Camp and Stanley’s Camp are both located within private concessions in the Okavango Delta and offer similar activities such as game drives, walking safaris and Mokoro trips.
From Stanley’s Camp, Sanctuary Lodges also provide the opportunity to spend a day walking with a group of semi-habituated elephants.
In January 2005, Condé Nast Traveler's tenth-anniversary edition listed Olonana, Chobe Chilwero and Chief's Camp in the annual "Gold List". This listing is gleaned from the finest hotels, resorts, and cruise lines by 32000 subscribers in the Readers Choice Poll.
