Etosha Rains - February 2008

First Flamingos have arrived

The rains came very late to Etosha this year, but is was worth the wait with 270mm of rain falling in 11 days. In the park, Fischer's Pan is full, Andoni Plains are under water and the main Etosha pan has a lot of water coming in from the north. The first Flamingos have already arrived along with thousands of young antelope.

Considering the amount of rainfall, game sightings are good. Petrus, guiding two Mushara Villa guests this morning reports spotting hyena and two cheetah. Yesterday they had good lion and elephant sightings.
