Chada Katavi

Tanzania

Accommodation
  • Traditional East African seasonal safari tents
  • 6 large canvas walk-in safari tents with 2 twin beds or a double bed
  • Private bathroom with safari loos and bucket showers
  • Dining area mess tent

Chada Katavi is a stylish, classy and comfortable camp idyllically placed under large shady acacia and tamarind trees on the edge of the twenty-mile wide Chada flood plain, it accommodates twelve people in large walk in tents.

Chada Katavi has evolved into a rather civilized campaign HQ. Come dinnertime, the mess is nothing short of splendid, silverware gleaming and glasses shining. Hidden in the trees that flank it are six guest tents, with crisp white Egyptian cottons on the bed, and thick rugs on the floor.

The tents are large romantic and airy, the bathrooms bush-deluxe. The thoroughly good white wine sitting on your porch table is perfectly chilled.

The small crew, most of who have been here since the camp first arrived, are meticulous with service and food is of a high standard.  The local knowledge of the guides here is unrivalled.

Guaranteed peace combined with an undemanding camaraderie.

Associated camps in Tanzania: on The Greater Serengeti - Serengeti Safari Camp & Loliondo Safari Camp;  in the Selous - Sand Rivers Selous with Greystoke Mahale - the Original Mahale Camp on Lake Tanganyika.
