Lake Malawi
Lake Malawi is one of Africa’s top tourist destinations and as a result of its golden shores and clear, warm waters; it is also quickly becoming a popular destination for water sport enthusiasts. The lake also has a much larger ecological significance which was exemplified by it gaining World Heritage status in 1984.
 
Liwonde National Park
The Liwonde National Park has often been described as Malawi’s finest reserve as a result of its beautiful landscape, wide variety of wildlife, and over 300 bird species. The lush riverine vegetation and grasslands make for excellent bird watching, and support large numbers of elephant, crocodiles and hippo
 
Nyika National Park
Lying atop a 2km high plateau, the Nyika National Park boasts stunning views of Lake Malawi, scenic mountain landscapes and rolling grasslands that in the summer bloom with over 200 species of orchid. The park is also home to over 100 mammalian species and is a bird watchers paradise with over 400 species recorded.
 
Vwaza Marsh
Renowned for its fantastic bird-watching opportunities, the beautiful Vwaza Marsh lies in the northeast of the country and consists of a mosaic of floodplains, wetlands and woodland. Despite its limited infrastructure, the area boasts superb game viewing and supports healthy populations of hippo, elephant and buffalo.
