Nsefu Camp
Accommodation
- 6 thatched rondavels
- Spacious en suite bathrooms with flush loo's
- New wooden decks
Nsefu is situated on the banks of the Luangwa River. This elegant camp was the first game camp in the area and dates back to the 1950s in a productive wild life environment.
Though the original rondavels are still in use, they have been stylishly refurbished with 1920s handbasins in spacious bathrooms. Each room offers fantastic views of the river through enlarged windows and from the new wooden veranda. The bar is tucked in beside a huge termite mound and is also great for game viewing.
Activities
Nsefu Camp combines very well with its sister camps - Tena Tena Camp and Nkwali Camp or as part of the North Luangwa Walking Trail ( a 9 night safari - 2 nights Nkwali Camp, 3 Nsefu Camp, 4 nights North Luangwa camp) or a 10 night set departure date walking mobile safari.
Fly Camping special between Nsefu Camp and Tena Tena Camp
An excellent fly camping trip (voted the highlight of many safari's) can be arranged between Nsefu and Tena Tena for a night or two. The camp is simple but extremely comfortable. Debs Tittle, one of the most experienced walking guides in Zambia, has been the guide on these walking safaris and she will be leading the fly camping walks during the 2005 season.
The camp is literally put up for the night (or two) only. The bed roll / mattress is on the ground, the walks are gentle pace. The food is cooked over an open fire and the groups are maximum of four. The shower is a pre mixed bucket showerand the loo is a bush loo (long drop).
