From the deserts in the west to the beautiful high forests of the east, Southern Africa is an area of vast contrasts in climate, geography and animal and plant life.
The main safari destinations are South Africa (including the Kingdom's of Lesotho and Swaziland), Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique.
Zambia is shown as part of Southern Africa although technically falls into Central Africa.
The Indian Ocean Islands of Madagascar and Seychelles are also included in the Southern African section
