Overlooking the Mkata plains and mountains in the south west of the Mikumi National Park, Vuma Hills Tented Camp is a luxurious and permanent tented camp perched above trees, offering guests superb "under the star" accommodation by allowing you to get as close to nature as you can.

Vuma translated from KiSwahili means - "a good rumour that is spread with blowing wind" - Now reality rather than just a rumour, it is ideal place to evoke the true spirit of East Africa.

Whether guests want to enjoy stargazing from the 360° viewpoint, cool off in the pool, or quietly relax in their custom made tent in between game drives, Vuma offers the luxury and privacy to suite all.

The dining and bar area overlooks the swimming pool, creating an oasis of tranquillity in the dusty hot climate of the lowlands.

The best time for visiting is in the dry months between June to February.  Vuma Hills remains open all year round, but access to some areas of the park may be limited during March to June, due to the rains. However, bird life during this time of the year is glorious and compensates for the scarcer viewings of game animals.
