Lazy Lagoon

Zanzibar

Accommodation
  • 12 bandas
  • All equipped with solar powered hot water
  • large shady veranda
  • spacious rooms and big windows

Lazy Lagoon is the perfect Indian Ocean island retreat, lying in the Zanzibar Channel offshore from mainland Bagomoyo, it is the ideal place to unwind at the beginning or end of a safari.

The twelve bandas on the private nine km long white sandy island, have been constructed to maintain the delicate balances in the environment, with conservation of the island's wildlife and mangrove swamps as the primary consideration.

The bandas are thoughtfully spread along the beach to provide privacy and an uninterrupted view of the Indian Ocean.  An attractive nature trail leads through the indigenous forest from the bandas to the Lazy Lagoon bar and restaurant.

The swimming pool, bar, restaurant and sundowners lounge are located on the tip of the island. From a hammock, this is the ideal position for watching the sun rise over Zanzibar and set across the sea over the palm trees on mainland Bagomoyo.

The island is home to Bushbabies, Wildpigs, Genets, Babons, Duiker and Suni antelope.
