Sausage Tree Camp

Zambia

Accommodation
  • Accommodates 12 guests in 6 spacious Bedouin style tents
  • Stunning en-suite bathrooms and 4-poster beds
  • Game viewing from the dining and bar tents

Sausage Tree Camp is ideally situated amongst the natural beauty of the Lower Zambezi National Park and boasts the highest levels of exclusivity and luxury.

These factors, together with the vision and reputation of Chifungulu Ltd and camp director Jason Mott have resulted in Sausage Tree Camp claiming the top spot in the BBC’s Holiday program’s ‘Ten Best Luxury Resorts of the World’ earlier in 2004.

Six Bedouin style tents dotted along the riverbank, accommodate a maximum of only twelve guests, assuring a high level of exclusivity.

Each luxurious tent includes solid Zambian teak furniture, sumptuous four-poster beds and is serviced by its own Muchinda (private butler).  Each tent is accompanied by unique open-air en-suite bathrooms.

The dining and bar tents at Sausage Tree Camp are perched on the riverbank with fascinating 360 degrees views and offer delicious dishes prepared by the camp’s Parisian trained chef.

While staying at Sausage Tree you have a good chance of seeing elephants, hippo, buffalo, waterbuck, zebra, impala, bushbuck and kudu.

A solid number of carnivores also roam the bush from leopards, lions and hyena. The camp has common sightings of wild dog, serval and the African wild cat.

Game drives, canoe and boat trips are amongst the activities offered at Sausage Tree Camp.

Sausage Tree Camp is closely associated with Old Mondoro Bush Camp.
